TWITCHER STUDIOS LLC built Twitcher as an offline, privacy-focused bird-identification application. This policy explains how the app handles information.
Information Twitcher processes
When you choose or capture a bird photograph, Twitcher processes that image on your device to estimate the bird species. Saved photographs, journal entries, patch progress, and preferences are stored in the app's private local storage on your device.
Information we collect
Twitcher does not require an account and does not transmit your bird photographs, journal entries, precise location, contacts, or personal information to TWITCHER STUDIOS LLC. The current version does not include advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or cloud-based identification.
Camera and photo-library access
Camera access is used only when you choose to photograph a bird. Photo-library access is used only when you deliberately choose an existing photograph for identification or your private journal.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell personal information. We do not share app data with advertisers or data brokers.
Storage, backups, and deletion
Twitcher data remains in the app's local storage. Your device or Apple backup settings may include app data in a device backup controlled by you and Apple. You can delete individual observations in the Journal. Deleting Twitcher removes its app-local information, subject to any backups you control through Apple services.
Children's privacy
Twitcher does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users because the current app does not transmit personal information to TWITCHER STUDIOS LLC.
External websites
Privacy and support pages are hosted through GitHub Pages. When you open those pages, GitHub may process technical website-access information under GitHub's own privacy terms. The Twitcher app does not open these pages unless you choose their links.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Twitcher's features or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
